Whine from 172

Left my 172 Mk2 standing for a few days over bank holiday - drove it Tuesday morning and its developed a whine. It increases as you accelerate and stops when you come to a halt.

When driving if you dip the clutch it alters the tone of the whine.

I have no other noticable problems other than this noise!

Im assuming that its going to be gearbox?!

Anyone recommed somewhere in the West Mids to take it too? My local stealers all shut down and id rather not be paying their prices!

wheel bearing?

if Fred can have a listen get him to, proper good bloke

wont be wheel bearing, as it changes when the clutch is dipped

i'd guess at gearbox bearing or maybe tensioners/idles on cambelt.
