Whining on cold start up

Wonder if anyone in the know can help me.

I've a 2006 1.4 clio 3. On cold start up the engine makes a whirling noise which then disappears once the engine gets warm. Also, in the first mile or so of my journey in the morning, again when the car is cold, changing gear produces the same whining/whirling noise.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I had thought the clutch release bearing, but when started the car is held by the hand brake in neutral :S

Mine whines in a morning when cold but goes after a while i think its normal to be honest i wouldnt worry , same car and engine aswell

To be honest i think all renaults do it lol its something to do with the aux belt/alternator bearing iirc? nothing to worry about though
