Who Else Do You Let Drive Your Car

Just wondering as a women (about 50) came into work today in a mint Williams 3 & Im guessing it might belong to her son/daughter, and wasnt hers.

Personally, I dont let anyone drive my car, cos Im scared sh!tless that theyll break/damage/crash it! I guess Im a little paranoid.

The only people that have driven my car apart from me are my best mate (whos got a Clio RT, and it was only down the road), and my older brother (whos got a R5 GTT, and it was only a bit further down the road!)

My mum, mates, g/f. Anyone really as long as there insured.

Im not really worried about it to be fair, its only a car. I just ask them to respect that its my car and to watch the rims.

My missus is insured on mine and uses it all week, I only get to drive mine on a weekend now! :( but, she is a slow ass driver and I know she aint gonna red line it all the time! (when she drives my company car its a different story though, dont think it comes out of the red!)

you get used to it after a while, think Im nearly there, 5 years later..

I only let 16v_Matt drive my car really... Although he doesnt really drive it very far... Just parks it mainly as i am a wicked driver but a shocking parker... !

......................................................................................................

It may have been hers?

Could you ask her?

Just interested to know as a man round the next street from me owns a mint Williams 1 and he must be about 70 or more.

Girlfriend was insured on the 172, the 206 and now the Willy as she is less risk driving my cars than I am driving hers (I set the front nearside pads on fire on her Festa a couple of weeks back!)

I would let someone I really trusted drive the car. Im insured 3rd party on other cars (like many with FC policies), so am very grateful to Lofty for trusting me in letting me drive his 2.0-converted 16v.

My mum has driven my car once, only cause it benefited me as the garage it goes to is next to her work and i could make it into the garage to take it in.

She loved it, said it was great to drive, so easy to over take people.

NO - ONE!!

My girlfriend has driven it once around a car park and in an industrial estate, I insured her for 28 days, she drove it for less than 30mins. She floored it once by accident from 30 in 2nd and barely managed to keep the car from hitting the curbs with the torque steer.

I feared for our lives after that little episode so I am the only one who is allowed to drive MY car. Though she was OK after that little scare, but I didnt want to take any more chances.

On the road almost anyone with a bit of coordination. The bird loves it when boy racers try to keep up with her.

On the track only friends who I know can drive competently.

oh and what ever you do dont ask her what the pipes (cold air feeds) that stick out the front of some peoples cars are for, apparantly they are front facing exaust pipes.

oh and if she offers to wash your car, RUN< RUN as fast as you can and drive away!

oh and there is a 68 year old woman down the road from me and when i was in the village shop a few months back she comes up to me and says i have a car like yours i went oh right thats nice, ne way went back out side and parked next to mine was a willy 3 i waited and she came out and said see i said i had a car like yours and she let me have a look around it and i have to say, its the most mint car i have ever seen.

she wares slippers when she is in it (has a seperate pair she changes in to when she gets in) its done 17.5k miles not a dent on it. she washes and waxes it every week without fail and she said its a very powerfull car and its some times to powerfull, i said whats the fastest you have been she said oh about 55mph it was very nippy but i dont do it often as i only use it for shopping and going out.

i asked her if she wants to sell it she looked at me and said but its not a new car why would you want a car that is only a few years older than yours?? i said i just like collecting carsand that it was a really nice looking 1.

she said she might be selling it before the summer if she does she said she will come to me first as im a nice young man :p

MaLicE,

She didnt let you drive it then??? poor car 55mph, a bit like having a greyhound and never letting it off the lead to run!!!

Hehe Sweet. I let my missus drive the Valver. She is quite a carefull driver. I drive her Corsa to work sometimes. And my old man has a go. Bearing in mind he owns an Audi S3 so trust him.

Mother is too scared of it Dosy cow. Thats why we bought her a Yaris. Hehe. I dont like leaving my car at garages. Only ones I trust. When I had my Old Nova GTE on Twin 40s I left it in the bodyshop for the arches and about 4 hours later saw it come f**king flying past, with some little 17 Year Old prick driving it. Needless to say went back to the bodyshop and took it elsewhere.

Some people have no respect for others property. GFs Corsa wheels are a bit scractched. HEhe OOOPSS MY BAD  Ususally round the other way.

my mate had a go while i was in the passenger seat. thats it. Dont trust people with my baby

As a rule NO-ONE else drives it, but ....

I did let the ex drive it once, and she drive it round an empty car park - and left the handbrake on!

The only other guy whos driven it is telford_mike, and I know I can trust him (Well he didnt crash it on that occation LoL :p)

Oh, and the guys when they do RR runs, but theres very little they can do to it (Its not like it can go anywhere, and it aint jumped the rollers yet!)

Well you should see what people VERY much older than that drive, where I live! TVRs / Civic Type R / BMW M3 / Z3 /Cabrios / XK8 / DB7s / Mercs / Williams / Maserati / Integra Type R. Plenty of real oldies round here have fast expensive cars, also, they have more surplus money to waste on frivolous things like cars.

Masses of proper personalised plates here too.

Dont be so ageist Tom, or I will send my 78 year-old TVR owner friend to beat you up!! He also has TVR on the plate of his Chimera.

;)

Mum is insured on my Clio. Dad would be on his policy. They hardly drive it. Dad hates the noise it makes, but Mum does like it. Broken still tho

Ive let my learner gf drive it round a car park once...nearly mailto:s#@t">s#@t myself as she went round a bend in second and put her foot down a little hard on the fun pedal... Shes too scared to drive it again ever and I appreciate that.

Id let my father drive it but he hasnt asked...most he did was sit in it and press the clutch and say "I dont like the clutch...its too heavy".

I might let my brother drive it but thenagain he lives 10,000km away from me...so no worries there either.

I might let a mate drive it, but no one else

My gf drives my cars, shes the only person i let drive my pulsar, cos her legs are too short to floor it.:p

gf and a mate are the only people who have driven my clio, the mate earned that privelidge cos he let me drive his elise.

  7.6cc :D

I let my saxo owning friend drive my car around the islands of Milton Keynes all day yesterday! used a far amount of petrol and i dont want to look at my tyres

Was fun though, my car never gets driven hard as im a wimp, but i think he enjoyed it this once! so did i :D

they can look at it and admire it. but the only person that touches that steering wheel is moi.

If they lucky.... i might let them change the tunes by the remote ;)

Although... a nice fit bird driving behind the wheel may change my mind :D :devilish:
