Well been seeing this simple mod for 197 on various forums.

So as i left work i took off the airbox cover.

Car started as ever & drove off, in the slow moving traffic thought whats all the talk about?

Well as soon as i hit open roads & pushed the loud pedal, where did that noise come from:eek: ????

Sounds like the maxogen i used to have on the T;)

Well worth the 30 secs to remove cover.

Give it a go:D

Doesnt the cover stop all the crap and heat getting in? So in reality your actually losing power now?

No it's the top of the filter box, air still passes through filter.

Once on the move don't think much heat effect, hence RR days have a huge fan to replicate on the move.

172/182...... unclick the caf on the right, so its 'resting' on the airbox, but not actually seated in. Does exactly the same, ie more induction noise, with no power loss. Ran my 182 like this

As shocking as it sounds, drilling holes in the airbox to get more noise shouldn't lose you a noticable amount of power, I doubt you'd even see a difference on a Dyno considering each run will never be exactly the same.

^^ Agreed. The people talking about loss of airspeed (not sure if that was on here or renaultsport or both) make me lol tbh

Would drilling holes gypsie style actually make it sound louder?
