ED definitely. The guy on here who just drove around Europe in his boosted one confirmed this for me. Reliable + fun.

And what sort of cost are you looking at for a drive in drive out turbo conversion & what sort of power output would that deliver? How would cost of that compare with having a megane turbo engine transplanted which I assume could be mapped to high 200s fairly easily?

Sounds a good plan mate

What about putting green a megane engine in. Gonna have less miles on. Built to be a turbo engine already... is it a lot more expensive to do a transplant that a turbo build?

  172 Turbo
Engine Dynamics.

Mine is still being used as a daily, it's averaging mid 20s to the gallon but it's cracking fun.

My Cup will be for sale next week if you want a cheap car, with recent full suspension refresh, belts due next year so boost it this year, and then Megane head gasket with the belts next year.

I went to ED for a map in Nov and have just dropped mine off yesterday for a 230 conversion, uprated clutch and hose kit. It's costing around 3500 but to me it's worth it! A lot of people will argue that it's not but who are they to tell me what to do with my car, I can't fault Andy at ED either! Top bloke who answered all my questions without hesitation no matter how trivial they seemed to me.

Highly recommended and got my turbo 200 all sorted and running a healthy 291/289
Interested in taking a Ph1 to them for a Megane engine/box conversion... anyone on here know if they've carried out this job on another other 1*2 and what the quality etc has been like? the chap who ive emailed about it a while ago seemed a nice chap and sent over a full quote etc... just had to put the brakes on it until fiances are sorted with the golf first.

meg engine is the future but not straight forward at all. mine has actually been going very well for 3 years and only gets used on track reliable 266BHP

undergoing some changes at the min will update soon!

convert a 197/200 or buy one of those much easier to do

Spotted yours on here, looks nice.

Has it been on ebay too over the past 6 months, looks familiar.

that's the one, literally had allot of messers and people wanting to pay 14 quid for it but zero people have actually taken the time to view the car oddly! its a nice one too but these days people seem to want the world without even seeing it

Yeah does look good mate. It's good you've kept it three years, when I first saw it on here I assumed it was because it didn't/couldn't sell on eBay.

Yes I believe they do as they asked me if I was interested in having a meggy engine in the Trophy. They're a really great bunch of like minded enthusiast who take serious pride in there work - and don't mess you around!

Hiya! I've just about finished doing it to mine. My top answer would be... don't do it unless you're good with a spanner/mechanically minded.

Unfortunately it's not a direct fit and does require a little bit of work. New driveshafts have to be made if using the 6 speed box. Luckily mines had pretty much everything ripped out as its a track/fast road car so it made it a little easier in the bay.

Looks at home in the bay though!
