The guy's username is Ditz. It is real, the starter is linked up to the air recirculation button on the heater controls, that's the button he's pressing

i had a toyota yaris courtesy car lat year (brand new out of the factory with only 17 miles on the clock ) anyway, the keyfob had to be anywhere in the car to turn it on. pain in the ass though becasue i always forgot where it was to lock the car door

Yeh thats how it is on the 197. But like i say on most you do have to put the key in.

Why do people on here hate this mod?? i mean like really hate it. There's been a few threads about push button starts and it really get's peoples back up.

Alot of new cars are coming like this, so if someone wants to do this to there Clio, then why not?

Plus, like someone said above, on this car you've got the added security function aswell.

im a mechanic, its what i do..
i had the engine out, dash out, and i had to wire up the ignition...

i took the heater panel apart, took a clip out of the button to make it a momantary switch.. soldered two wires to the pcb behind the button.. run that through a relay to the starter.

its safey,, nobody knows how to start it.. simple

didn't realise that was how it was done. watched the vid posted on here and it looked like a normal push button start where you turn the key 2 clicks then press the button.
without ever seeing you car or reading up on it... how the f**k would i have known that you are a mechanic?
