Why Clio V6

The link wont work off of there web site but if you go to Renaults used car page there is an 03 Mk2 with less than 10k on the clock for under £20000.

I would have to go for a Mk2 V6, many thanks to all who have given there views both negative and positive on the V6. I agree with you all in ways because i think its expensive for what you get and yes there are other cars out there with better value for money but i think what its come down to is the amount on the road. There are loads of P1s, EVOs etc etc on the road but V6s in Newcastle are few and far between. The only one ive seen up here is the one the salesman drives for Benfield Renault where i bought my silver bullet from. I have just had some good news today, i got the job ive been after for ages so i will definately be aiming for ordering my V6 sometime in the next few weeks. Will post some photos once i get it. I have been told that the below site does Mk2 V6s for £21,000 or something, does anyone know what the companys like?

NSX Type R the only nsx to have. What is the appeal of the other ones, their ancient.

For £21k id rather have a new s2000 over a v6, also a very underrated car. Or an evo 9 gt at £23k, no ayc so service intervals wont be as frequent and its 330bhp standard. v6 is just too slow for a £20k+ price tag.

  The Jinx

Whats the appeal? Theyre one of the finest rear drivers ever put in to production.

They look gorgeous. The S2k and Evo look bland by comparison.

steveV6: The red (plug for BEST colour!! ;) ) one on the Renault used cars website is mine and it has been for a few weeks now :D

Heres my bit - you mention other cars as a comparison, but just LOOK at them and then LOOK at the V6 - theres your answer.

Also popularity - hands up whos seen an S2K or Evo compared to a V6.

Granted s2k and evo look crap compared to a v6 but their different things to different people. Most blokes want cars with a bit of go and under 30k its hard to find a car thats quick and that look the nuts. Only cars i can think of are from the past the escort cosworth and the clio williams.

Going back to the finest rear drive car ever put in production supposedly the nsx. Didnt tiff needle establish on topgear like 6 years ago that a 6k evo would be a better used buy than a nsx, didnt he even say the £6000 evo handled better than the nsx. And what about elise, exige, noble, f40, 355, 360, 430, gallardo, murcelago, mclaren f1, zonda....etc arent these finer mid engined cars.

  The Jinx

No theyre mostly arent, hence why the NSX won ECOTY a couple of years back, and mostly they arent as cheap either.

And the cossie got slated this month. And finally, Tiff Needell is hardly one to comment on handling as he spends most of his time sideways. I dont think I ever saw him finish a race either. Senna liked it though. Oh yeah, thats cos he set it up.

Although I wont slate the S2000 as a car, as I love it to bits, was a close decision between it and the V6, just because the S2K has such a fantastic engine.

After 2.25 years of owning my MK 1 still like it, even after 52k miles.

No real problems and those that have cropped up have been sorted.

I have been lucky as I have owned many cars from a Jaq XK120C, Estcort Coswort etc and still like the V6.

many people seem to reply with no experience of the car and believe everything they read.

I spend my money as I want and enjoy my cars.

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..

..Clarkson said the v6 would be in his all time top ten car garage, lets hear it for Jezza!

They think so. If not it would be a massive co-incidence in such a short time after replacing the gearbox. Typical that this would happen over the long weekend!

Maybe Ill get a NEW gearbox this time? :D
