this sort of thread makes me laugh. Lets face it. 99% of coilovers you can buy are not designed for the track.
Why do people buy raceland? because they are either not well off, cant be bothered to save, or cannot see the benefits of a premium brand.
A brand like
Bilstein will be far superior on the road where damping control is arguably more important than a smooth circuit. You have far more changes in camber, road surface quality etc that a high quality coilover will soak up, keeping the ride firm but comfortable and keeping the wheels more planted on the road.
Poor quality suspension lasts less, gives a crashy ride and many ive seen are too soft so go coilbound. I'm amazed that some get TUV certification but I bet its only for -20mm or something. People are then sticking the cars down 60mm and wondering why they bottom out over every bump.
Personally I have never use the cost of the car being an excuse for buying tat. They are silly low in value simply due to the engine size and low demand for big engined performance cars. I bought my 172 because it was a top of the range model so I'd not modify it to be worse in quality.
