Why get an aftermarket steering wheel if there's no airbag?

  FF Orange Clio 182
Not Clio specific but I've seen a fair amount with aftermarket steering wheels. Why would you get one if there's no airbag?
Am I right thinking that with racing harnesses you don't need one?
For a road car without harnesses I'm confused why people would get one simply because the wheel is "better".

Because some of us are willing to take that risk. It makes the feel of the car a lot better IMO because of the size of it. But mostly what Danny said.

Wait saving.

That is, you're not waiting as long for the car to get up to speed because you've saved some weight.

Honestly though, the genuine answer is because race car. They're smaller than the standard mk2 item, which people prefer.

I prefer OEM though so I wouldn't change for a smaller one
