Why have some 182's got locks and their doors, and some haven't?

  MK2 Audi TT - 2.0T dsg.
Ain't it becouse the locks are on one side of the doors and you have been catching one side then the other side??? Could be :)

If i remember right 03 or 53 plates cars and newer don't have a drivers side lock just a passenger one

Cars ages before then came with both sides

172 have locks on both sides i think

182 have them on passenger side only - f**king stupid.. why the hell would you want a lock on the pass side and NOT the drivers side??

wish they never had any really!

apparantly if you order a drivers door though.. they come with the lock hole!

a lad i know works at a bodyshop, had to replace this door on a womans clio, stripped old door down, removed it got the new door in, swapped it over, painted it etc, went to put it back together.. wheres the lock?
ges round asking everyone thinking some t**t has hid it for a laugh..
finally looked at the old door and there was no lock on it. lol! they had to order a new barrel to match the key, fitted it, and the woman never even realised.

that bloke is a bit crazy and has loads of funny stories.

This is down to the car being designed by the frenchies with there own market in mind. There ok as that is the drivers door for them!

would have been easier to just leave that lock out - save costs.

and you can buy drivers doors with the lock hole.

why did they make them ?

just seems all a bit irish.

also on mine when you lock the car from the passenger lock, it doesnt engage the central locking so only the passenger door locks!

beware...
noticed this when i disconnnected my battery to charge it up...so had to keep eye on car.

same here . did talk about it b4 , reno avin cutbacks at time of production .lol:quiet:

Not as bad as Ford, Focus only has one rear reverse light on the right iirc, I HATE that! I use my reversing lights to see when backing up the driveway.

My FF has both sides. They must have left one side off the cup to save weight :clown:

this has to be the most stupid thing, had a flat battery the other day opened the car but wouldnt let me lock it. so thought ok ill stick the key in and lock it but NOOOO that only locks one door. surly the key should be connected to the central locking and do all locks!!! and no its not because the battery was flat the lock just opens one door, i hate reanults some times

Thats putting too much trust in french electronics for the doors to unlock when you press that button ;)

I had a 172 Nov 2003 and only had locks on the passenger side!!

I assumed that was due to the right hand drive versions.

Mines a 05 reg 182 and has locks on both sides. They are useful to have just in case your remote battery dies or your central locking goes too ;)

my 04 182 only has a lock on the passenger side but not on the drivers side, and the lock is usless anyway because if the battery went in my key the alarm would go off when you got in the car and you could'nt even lock the car up properly
