Why oh why do people love Trendlines?

  172
and prepared to pay well over the odds for what looks like essentially a slippery leather seat with okay support?

The amounts I've seen these go for is outrageous! Im looking for seats myself and it appears Accord type r seats are basically the same just not leather and these go for a quarter of the price! Hell proper grippy OMP's or Sparco's are half the price.

So I ask Cliosport......

WHY?!

I think I have a bit of a reputation for opening threads like this online :D

Real talk though. There's much better out there for the price. Im considering the Accord type r recaro's myself for the OEM look/comfort/support.

Never sat in them, unfortunately! unless they are the same as fitted in the focus RS Mk2?
Think thats the ones that are In the 197/200 and Corsa VXR. They all look very similar anyway.

Best recaros ive personally sat in were the Clio 200's. Awesome support.

  Clio 182 Cup
I have them in mine, although they were the rare factory Cup ticked option from new.

Personally, there are far more supportive/comfortable seats out there for the money, IMO the bolsters are too shallow and unless you sit bolt upright with a CG lock you move about a bit too much in the corners for my liking due to the leather sections not gripping enough compared to the fabric.

I can understand why people want them if originality is the name of the game and the do look nice, but until a Clio 1*2 becomes a classic just get a decent seat and don't pay over the odds for Trendlines, not in this spec anyway.

They are comfy seats and are great for day to day driving. I think they look great, much better than the standard seats. I didnt think twice about spending serious money on them infact I took a massive risk buying some brand spanking new from some dude abroad for just under a grand.

They are not comfy! Not by the creation of Christ himself! Probably the opposite.

They look superb though and I hate the standard seats. I jumped from the Trophy into the Frp and it was lightyears of a difference seat wise.

I would rate them as comfortable absolutely, it's all a matter of personal preference at the end of the day, as no two bodies are exactly the same either, FYI.

Agree with all here, it's the OEM look that I was going for. To be honest they're one of my favourite mods :)

They look superb. Especially as oem but I don't think they're a great seat.

And how would you tilt them forward to let rear passengers in?

Oem. Mine are comfy, hold their value and sit nice a low.

What's the point in having nice seats if they're always covered?

As a seat they are ok, the oem sport seats are more comfortable, the tread lines don't really fit anywhere tbh, not comfortable enough to be classed as a great day to day seat and not sporting enough to be used in a 'weekend car' situation.

£700-£1000 is a bit of a joke! but why if people are paying that then more fool them.

The seats don't match the rears (as someone said earlier) the ones in a swiss trophy however do match - I've seen/been in one

Swiss trophy has these with the little dashes in them to match the rear seats (standard dynamique seats or something?)

Im still struggling to find something for my 172 so far i have in mind

Sparco R100
OMP strada
OMP design 2
All of which i know will be a pain in the ass when it comes to fitting as they arent like Cobra's which are just fit and forget and come with all the fixings. The Italians are at bad at seat fittings as they are at wars and having uncorrupt police.

Tbh im shocked that they go for that price, it's not a one off either, theres 5 or 6 full corsa vxr interiors on ebay all for around £700, certainly makes the treadlines seem expensive!
