My 182 is making a very wierd whirring noise on hard accelleration. It seems to be coming from the left of the engine bay and its starting to do my tits in. Any ideas what it is?
Its prob the Cat, maybe its blowing, mine sounds like its coming from the left side of the engine. If you go to a national tyres, and say u think you car is blowing they will put it up on some ramps and seal it back up for you, should only cost a fiver!!
Is it like a whislting noise when u go through like 4k?? If so theyll take the clmap off put some sealent round it, well depends where its blowing from, but thing is u cant really drive the car for that long afterwards. Mine was fine then it come back again, got it sealed again, and made the mistake of not letting it set, and the thing sound,s bad!!!! For a new cat from reno there £910.
If its whirring i would say it was either the aux pulley of the aux tensioner pulley. I changed both mine last week and put a new belt on. The pulley bearing was quite noisy and worn. Car sounds 100 times better now though.
