Will 172 inlets fit on a 182 head?

Car  172, Tiguan
From search through a few old threads it appears not, but is this definitive? Something to do with the 182 breather?

Lower inlets are interchangeable. Plenums not. Different breather setups between ph2 172s and 182s and ICV take-off on the ph1s.

I think the answer to that is no as well.

How about drilling a hole in a 182 plenum for the ICV?

i did this with a phase two plenum for my ph1 and it works absolutley perfect, you will need m6 tap and a big drill bit and also somthing to router the hole to make it smooth and big enough to fit the o ring seal.if you do this then make sure you remove any swarf/debris from the inside of your inlets, not meaning to teach you how to suck eggs but a tiny bit could spell head rebulid.hope this helps mate

I recon I could make a 172 inlet fit a 182 head. Bit of a faf but not impossible. Trim one of the mounting lugs off the breather plate and it should go
