thats where the bodykit comes in 1st before lowering, to see how much it will need
i wouldn't put 17's on, i put my standard 172 16" on my mums 1.2 16v 2002 clio, and the rear wheels rubbed if you go around bends quickly and sharply, and that was without people in the back !!
each to there own opinion on bodtkits etc, i'am a young guy who just loves modified cars makes the car more noticeable and in some cases unique, this is ny opinion

Probably the wrong offset mate.
I had 17" alloys on a 1.2 lowered 60mm, dont think it ever rubbed.
