will a clio diesel g/box fit my clio 16v

hi there im a mechanic but not to up to date with my renaults, willl a diesel gearbox fit my clio 16v because mine is bust and diesel boxes are low ratio so it will be quicker acelleration, i want to use a 1.9 diesel box out of a clio thanx, my clio is a 1.8 16v.

meaning??? good or bad i know there better on acceleration coz ive done a few conversion when i had my rs turbo, it accelrated like f**k and was slower top end

You sure your not confusing yourself, if you want acceleration in general you want a petrol box?

because only some diesels rev up low the ratios are different in the box to compete with the revs so when u put it in a high reving vehicle with more toraue thus mor acelleration

Diesel revs less so longer ratio? as 2000rpm in a diesel would be about 70mph but in petrol would be 4500ish?

ok then but that weired coz when i put diesel box im my turbo it went like f**k, but prob coz i put upgrades on at same time, s**t!!! ok has anyone got a gearbox for a clio 16v then coz im buggered if ican find one cheapish

im running a 19 1.9 d box on my clio, and it pulls just as well. and will do 140mph in 4th, and off the clock on 5th! nearly hit the milage reset button when it hit the limiter.

Did it slow the acceleration down by much? Did you do 0-60 times before and after for instance as I have a valver and a diesel clio so I might think of swapping boxes if its worth it?
