Will be picking myself up a bargain in the next few days.

I've just bought a myself a 1992 K Plate Clio 1.4 RT, runaround.

Two owners from new, 60,000 miles on the clock, new tyres, front discs and pads, 6 months MOT and 3 months tax.

Minus points a couple of scuffs/scratches and the hot/cold air blower fan has died.

All for the princely sum of eighty five English Pounds.

Yes, this thread is worthless without pics ;) - but they will follow.

My fuel bills are crap. I have the worst job, im an estate agent and drive it all the time, done 4k on it! Engine has bedded in well, pulls like a rocket! But have to drive it so slow all the time time get some sort of economy out of her, i can get just over 300 miles per tank. Once i nailed it for a tank and claimed 190 miles fromm 55 quid! Mind you i didint buy her for the economy so still happy when i can afford to thrash her LOL! Desperatly want a 306 dturbo as a run around!

How you guys finding it?:)

That sure is a bargin.

I would of bought it for that and we already have one spare car.

I know, bought it off a friend of mine, she wants it off her driveway.
Moving to a new flat over the weekend so won't have the time to go get it, let alone sort out the insurance (although it is pretty quiet at work this afternoon!) So I'll go and pick it up Monday or Tuesday evening.

And to think a month or so ago, I was contemplating buying a Cinquecento for a few hundred quid!

I'll have it off you in 6 months Trev. I'll pay up front and bring the cash tonight?

;)

Bargain though - where did you find it?

Ha ha!

I bought it off a friend of mine. I tapped her up about it about 6 months ago, but she wasn't sure about selling it as it was daughter's car.
Her daughter is in Australia at the moment and they have just ordered a brand new polo for her as replacement. Lucky girl!

But then lucky for me... 85 quid!!!

i just got a similar bargain 96 n reg fiesta 1.1, 1 months tax two months mot great little runner for £80. i've done 300 miles in it already in two weeks. no power steerings a killer though. you can't beat a bargain. i'll get 100 if i scrap it lol

Here are some photos I took of it this morning. I spent a few hours valeting the inside, it was bloody filthy! I even found a mummified chip down the side of the driver's seat, a live snail and six pence.
The seats are a little grubby, I doubt they've ever been cleaned since it was registered in 1992, so I'm going to borrow my mate's Aquavac next week. Must've done over a hundred miles in it already, and haven't yet put any fuel in it. Picked the thing up with half a tank of petrol in it - so that was a bonus.

It's a laugh to drive it and the 8 valve 1.4 engine is pretty lively. I'm off work next week so I'll give the outside of the car the full whilst I'm off.

Exactly like my 1st car; a 1991 5 door tungy grey 1.4 rt!

Except mine cost a hell of a lot more than eighty-five notes!

Feck me what Estate Agents are you with? I was lumped with corporate mini's and the like when I was in the industry.

I got a free Preg Escort cab the other day. Done 1200 miles in it without a problem! Love it.....

I'd rather have the golf cart in the 3rd pic!

But £85! Sell that for £400 easy! £7.99 on autotrader. Couple of those and you'd be able to buy a mk2 shape one!

OK, I've done around 350 miles in it - was really handy in my house move too.

Took it down to Mike's (Rentech) and he gave it the once over on the ramp and couldn't find any real MOT worries. I got him to fit a clutch cable as there was a brand new one lying in the boot when I bought it, he fixed the blower and did an oil and filter change. Charged me 80 quid all in - was happy with that.

Going to get the cambelt done this weekend as going on the records, receipts for the car it was last done around in 1999!

The car was never driven much and has probably been used more in the last 2 weeks than the previous 6 months.

Pleased with it so far.

Awesome little buy that, especially as you have Rentech nearby so you know you will always get cheap reliable servicing with it as well.

Looks pretty smart with its foggies up front, photoshoot? ;) hehe.
