Will it work?

  1999 Clio RT 1.6
After a long time, I finally found another car that is exact same model as mine, 1999 1.6 Auto Clio MK2 and it has the EXACT same numbers on the ECU.Since my ECU has gone

I was thinking, If I buy the ECU with the EXACT same numbers/model, will it work as a "plug and play"? Or do i still need the UCH etc. of the donor car?

Ecu type is Siemens Fenix 5

You would need the ecu, uch and keys. How do you mean your ecu has 'gone'? That's more than rare, 99.999 times out of 100 it's a loom issue.

Even if the ECU model matches exactly?

And the ECU has gone as in, I had a mechanic come over with a Snap-On, looked it up and it came up as ECU Power Supply Memory or something along those lines, I've had 2 members from this forum Cliosport come and take a look at the car, and neither one of them knew what to do
I've changed the sensors and what not, but still nothing.

The car was working fine until one day it just never started up ( the yellow box with the heart sign thing ) came on.

Now the car doesn't store power in the battery even doe the batterys brand new, and when we get to start the car it keeps misfiring and knocking very bad, a bit of acceleration and the car cuts out, if you keep pumping the accelerator, the car keeps revving until it actually catches the rev and you can continue from there, but there is no such thing as safe driving with that car so I haven't even bothered trying to take it on the roads.

In all seriousness, would a dodgy ECU make an engine knock?

lmao good one mate, made me chuckle lol

I've honestly looked everywhere in the car mate, touched up all the cables and wirings and what not.. theres only one cable thats coming out of the engine fuse box and its not connected to anything and i can't find anywhere to connect it to!

The car was all fine until one day it just stopped working ( After installation of speakers and a sound system got robbed and the cables were touching and all sorts of extreme s*it)
