Will my airbag go off ?

If i try removing it from the wheel without disconnecting the battery ? I've got a retrimmed wheel ready to go on. Just need to swap buttons and airbag over. I've had people giving me mixed info. Some saying don't bother disconnecting battery, and others saying make sure I do. I dont fancy a slap in the face.

Might as well just disconnect it and be safe, it's not exactly a ball ache to quickly do.

It's a possibility no one can tell you either yes it will or no it won't. Personally I'd disconnect the battery considering the force airbags inflate at.

Didnt go off with me both times ive taken the wheel off, but I made sure to not put my face anywhere near the wheel when doing so, be safer just to disconnect the battery.

Never went off for me, just keep your head out of the way if your not disconnecting the battery.

Is it really worth the risk? Airbags inflate at a massive rate, and even if it did go off without your face in the way it's going to make you seriously jump! Just disconnect it, takes all of 30 seconds.

Not to mention needing the airbag module reset, best just to undo the battery.

disconnect and save youself a possible broken nose. for the time it takes, its not worth contemplating tbh.
