will the 197 fail an mot with a decat?

ive herd that they pass the mot's with decat via emissions but would they actually pass the new mot's it still will have the pre cat so technically still have a cat ....

No one on here can tell you. Pre-cats aren't as efficient as the main unit, but a chap on the 133 forum had his car pass with the main cat deleted.

I doubt it though.

i highly doubt it will as pre cats are mostly used for emissions on start up mostly for the american market.

I've heard of people passing their MOT by retaining the pre cat however as Christopher stated it can't be guaranteed so I wouldn't want you to lose out of the MOT fee thinking it'll be fine then failing.
