Does anyone know if using to many and different kinds of waxes on top of each other reduce the overall finish ?
Like dulling my paint work ?
The reason i ask is a local forum i go on i posted a few pics of my car with Collinites 476 on it then listed the other waxes i have applied in last 4-5 months and someone said this.
Heres what i posted regarding what i have applied to car in last 4-5 months.
Megiuars Quik Clay
2 coats of Ag Super Resin Polish
2 coats of Ag Extra Gloss Protection (24 hours apart)
2 coats of Poorboys Nattys Blue (Weeks apart)
P21's Carnauba wax about 5 times (Weeks apart)
Collinites 476s twice. (Weeks apart)
Heres the reply by a fellow forum member :S
"Sounds like heaps of protection but i bet with all that different LSPs on the car its prob muted any metal flake the car had!"
and i asked what he meant and here was reply
"Too much wax can(depending on the brands) can cause yellowing or fogging and will dull down any metallic finish underneath.
I would be concerned about mixing all the different LSP`s you have put on.
Do they react well together etc?
I am sure the Gurus from polished Bliss will clarify if i am right or wrong
I would find one LSP you like and stick with it or remove previous stuff and start with another one"
What you's guys think ?
Could he be right ?
