Will xbox 360 controllers and wheels work on my PC?

AS above, i have plugged my wheel in and it comes up saying the correct device has been detected but it fails to install, im guessing htis is to do with the drivers,

its a mad catz mc2 for xbox360..

Yeah you need the adapter for the PC though...

I'm assuming harry's is wired though?

If its wired it should still work XP/Vista should automaticaly downloaded any needed drivers
