Williams showing first registration in 2001

done a dvla check on the willy and it says it was first registered in 2001, does that mean if i took the private plate off the car it will go onto a y reg?

In theory yep are you sure the latest reg Williams I ever knew of (abar the still as yet unregistered one) was on an 98 plate.

Somethings not right there...? Unless it just sat around for like, 5 years before been registered heh...?

Dan

If it does turn out to be on a Y reg, I know of someone (as do most others) who will give you fifteen million pounds for it.

Sometimes when cars are catergorised the date registered is much later than the car as it has been re-registered. A friend had a 2001 Y reg Corsa that was 'first registered' in 2003.

eeeehhhhhhh! theres a serious mistake made there, ok maybe a chance that it did sit around for years before it was registered but no chance its a 5 door hatchback, lol:eek:

A Y reg 5 door williams. Interesting. Or maybe you have a "ringer". And a bad one at that.

I know that registration plate for some reason just don't know why.

Maybe that reg went on the car at that date and the DVLa got mixed up or the car was brough back on the road.

Just doen a check car was registered in 1995 DVLA have made a mistake.

I forget the site I used do a search for car registration checking or somehting and you'll find a few.

If the DVLA are at fault as such due to a mix up then you might wan them to correct it as I'm sure Road fund is a bit moe on later cars.

I'm still convinced I know of that platae on a Williams for some reason going to be playing on my mind all night now.

''Date of first registration in the uk'' (section B1) sometimes indicates its an import. Could've been first reg'sd in the isle of mann etc. For example, on my logbook, this B1 section remains blank. TBH, i don't even know if they made RHD williams outside the uk?? So it could just be a complete balls up by the DVLA?

DVLA are shite, if I had a penny for everytime I'd seen something as important as a VIN number being incorrect on a V5 I'd be a rich man. Complete bunch of monkeys.
