Williams Wide Track

Where has the thread gone for the wide track conversion?

Thinking about doing this, how much does it cost not including labour, what parts are needed and how long does it take to fit?

Guts of day to fit, either by a garage or yourself and a mate (buy some axle stands and a large jack!). Beware the ARB nuts and clips if youre doing it...theyre hard to do up without airgun etc.

how much would the coilovers be worth to sell and buy some new williams ones? dont quite like the idea of binning them for standards!

£150~200 maybe new William ones your looking at £440 from ktec etc I think.

lol i dont wana drop from coilovers to standard shocks tho. this will poss have to wait a while, then ill do a straight swap the avos for willy coilovers.

  Caddy Maxi

coilovers are w**k according to richy who has has both coilovers and normal dampers and uprated springs (200lb i think)

so thats worth thinking about too mate

Id swap from 16v coilovers to a standard willy setup...like i said it really is that good and still stiff enough for normal/fast road use.

Yes, of course but even a standard williams setup is better than a coilovered 1.8 setup is what im saying
Correct.

Williams setup is very good.

Williams setup stock is superb is not like you can lower one much on Coilover like a mk2 etc

Coilovers should increase on the track performanc slightly but it th costs of one the road setup.
The bestway is he tock setup or an expensive coilover option ie leda etc, or th cup racer stuff (finding part numbers might be dificult Im still looking) or cut the arches away and lower the car right to the ground (the option I think Ill follow)

well im not bothered about the eventual cost of the stuff aslong as i get the best ones, dont want to pay for some standard stuff only to upgrade a few months down the line. what are the prices for the coilovers for a willy? whats better coilovers or cup setup?

I decided to buy coilovers for the Hybrid rather then the willy setup.

Had coilovers on the 172 and it was superb

Cup setup is the best out of the box but probably only setup for track work. Coilover can let you fiddle.
If your uin th car for road use Id sik with stock setup maybe uprated springs bt stock is superb conbination on the roads and fine for track work.

Yeah, either get the willy track and williams coilovers or just stick to valver setup with valver coilovers.

I am fitting 10mm spacers so will widen my track by 20mm and have fitted valver coilovers.

Spacers cost me a tenner:D

Am also gonna get 205 wide tyres on the turbines once there refurbed so it should stick like glue
