Did it go snap! Followed by the sound of bits of plastic rattling around inside the door? Worth taking the door card off to look.
There are some plastic clips that break on the assembly, that would be straight forward to replace, but Renault do not sell them over here. The whole regulator is over £200, and an hour to fit, so at the dealer you are looking at just over £300.

GSF or eurocarparts sell them for around £70 and it is an easy DIY job. Available secondhand etc, but the new ones have the plastic bits made out of a stronger plastic (obviously a design fault on the original).

Worth looking inside the door though, as if it is the bit that clips onto the window that has gone rather than the bits of plastic that the cable goes through you don't have to get a complete assembly.
