Windows Live mail - how do you link it to gmail?

I use gmail by LiveMail - in gmail settings you need to activate pop3 server, and then configure the settings when you set up the account in Live Mail as below

Dont use POP. use IMAP

imaps ok but as long as you tick 'leave message on server' it's alreet using pop3 tbh
