Windscreen repair on insurance.

I'm Fully Comp with Liverpool Victoria, and as I understood it my windscreen was covered for chips/cracks as long as they were smaller than a 10p?

My mum reckons I just need to ring autoglass and have them come out & repair it, but I can't find my policy docs to check.
Don't really wanna ring and spend 40 mins on hold to thier customer service dept but will call tomorrow if no one here knows..

Anyone know what I've got to do or if there is an excess to pay?
The chip is central and over to the drivers side and about as big as a 5p. Bugs me when I'm driving & want it sorting before it gets worse.

It is free...but they will hit you come renewal time...even though you have an extra year of 'no claims', you've had a windscreen (or windscreen chip) claim and they will try and screw you for it.

I had 3 years ncb and they tried to charge me the same as when I had 2 years! When I enquired...they told me that....I told them to 'go forth and multiply'!!! :quiet:

Will repair any chip up to the size of £1 coin.

I had a new screen in my cup (cracked) Fully comp,£60 excess. G/F had a chip repaired (small), on her saxo for free, but wasn't a very good job tbh, it can still be seen.

The repair isnt designed to totally remove it so u cant see it anymore, it is designed to stop it getting any worse/bigger. Correct me if im wrong tho

Repair should be at least 95% back to original.

I was told by my insurance (Admiral) if the crack/chip was bigger than a 5p they would have to replace the windscreen.

Needless to say my crack was the length of a £20 note and they replaced it (i could choose who came out) but I had to pay a £70 access, no premium on the renewal and admiral customer service was brill. They even put a heat reflective screen in.

dont know bout ones round you but in stoke some of the halfords have been having tents outside doin free stone chip repairs.
