Windscreen Vandalised

  Arctic Blue 182
Hi all

Woke up this morning to find a MASSIVE crack on my windscreen where someone has obviously taken it upon themselves to chuck a rock or something at it.

One of the cracks is around 14inches long and its at the top of the windscreen just outside of my field of vision.

Just wondering the best source of action with this, not going to both involving police as its a waste of time, should I sort it out myself privately or claim for it?

Anyone had similar situations before?

Claim fella, you will only need to pay £75excess, insurance pays the rest and it doesnt effect your No claims etc.

Depends who you're with & if you have fully comp.

My excess for windscreen is only £50.

You sure it was vandalism? I came back to mine after 3 days and found it had a large crack. The heat did it from a very small chip picked up a while ago.

Aye insurance jobby that.

Oh yes, good idea on not involving the police. I involved them when someone stole my door badges off my 197. The only thing they did was to harrass me with customer satisfaction polls.

Maybe if they had more police on the beat on foot, and less of them hiding waiting for someone to go past at 31 mph they may catch more of these scumbags.

some times it works out cheap to get a windscreen out of a scrap car and as 1.2's have the same screen u may get one cheap. just get a car glass fitter to put it in then.

Im not 100% sure no, and I couldnt see a visible impact mark so you could be right...I'd like to think it wasn't vandalism as I have to park my car away from my house on the road so peace of mind is an issue at the moment

There didnt seem to be an indentation where a rock or something would have struck....not sure :S

I don't think most 1.2 windscreens wil have the bit for the rain sensitive wipers and the auto lights will they?
