Wing mirror hole bunged up?

Recently got myself a great 172, I can hear a whistling noise and from searching on here it's the hole in my driver side wing mirror.

What the hell do you guys use to fill it up and stop that bloody noise?!

Just put tape on it for now to see if it is the whistling ?
