Wing mirror query

I'm selling my car in December (getting a Dynamique SX!) and so need to replace the broken mirror. Some yobbo's snapped it off so it's held on by tape. The color coded cover is NOT damaged. If I were to buy a new matt black mirror can I just pop the back covers off and swap them over? Must be connected somehow they seem like 2 seperate parts!

yea they should just be clipped in, try prise it from the underside with a very thin screwdriver or something
