Wireless connection

hi i just have a new D-Link wireless modem router. it is working fine on the LAN ports, but my laptop will no connect to it, and if it does it doesnt last or hold up at all!...any ideas why? the router is "G" and mylaptop supports this.

Change the channel that the wireless is using?

would that be the "value" in the wireless adaptors properties? between 1 and 13 or soemthing?

It's setup on the router itself, you will need to look at the configuration on the router.
