wireless wep key ? ?

ive just got a vaio laptop (very nice) put a wireless card init and set it up, it picks up my router but i cant connect because it needs a wep key, where do i get this key from ??

Dial into your Router and look in security settings.

its basically a password that you have set up to grant access to the w/l network.

^^ what fubar said, its a security key you must have set at somepoint. However, you will probably have to reset the key rather than find out what it is, so you will have to use the new key on all of the devices you connect/currently have connected.

Look to use WPA instead of WEP. Its more secure.

Ye, pitty win98 doesnt support WPA or at least not on the ones ive used.

Wireless security is pretty pants anyway. But better than nothing.

Only allow your vaios MAC address to connect as well; this helps (a bit).
