wiring components to front doors

my pioneer component have a wire that needs to go from the speaker in the door to the tweeters in the dash. Im busy fitting them now...well I was.

I need to get the wire from the door into the car.

I pulled off the kick panel thinking it would just be a case of sticking the wire through the rubber boot and pulling it into the door.

Instead I am greeted with a loom with a plug on the end connected to the boot so theres nowhere to put the extra wires through.

How am I supposed to get the wires from the doors into the car?

with mine, i have the amp cables spliced into the original loom behind the stereo and then the orignal wires in the door i cut the speaker plug off and put two crimps on the end for the cross overs, hope that makes sense. need to check which is posative and negative before you go cutting anything though!

thats not going to work for me until i get my amp...which wont be yet.

At the minute i want to run them from the head unit, and my speakers dont have an external crossover box...it looks like they are built into the back of the tweeter.

So apart from the cable which runs to the head unit (which I will use the existing speaker cable) I need to run another cable from the back of the speaker in the door...up to the tweeter in the dash.

The cable is hard wired into the back of the tweeter, and i've took it down through the dash into the footwell, now I need to get it into the door and it wont go through the rubber boot because of the loom connecter.

i bodged it

how long it'll last i dont know...but i put the wire under the door seal...popped out the boot at the door side and put the wire under the boot and pushed it back in...covering the wire in between the door and the car in duck tape (very little wire).

Works fine, cable doesn't snag. should be no problem

Dont put tweeters on dash is a simple answer. Worst place for them!

aye cheers for that dan. when i get my amp i'll probably be relocating them to somewhere more suitable...and a better set than pioneers too.

the bodge job will do for now though.

Put them on the door panel or on the panel/speaker grill. Works well being close to midrange
