Wiring diagrams/electrical info need please?

Now I'm thinking maybe Ben or edde can help me out here? ;) but basically I want to know, if possible, the colour and general location behind the dash of the door unlocked feed to the courtesy light.
Also, if possible the same info for the feed to the sidelights and/or headlights.

Any wiring diagrams etc will be greatly appreciated! :approve:

Cheers!

I can give you the colours of the wires that feed the courtesy light but its all controlled by the UCH. The door rabbet switches go to the UCH and depending on the position of the switch in the courtesy light its either grounded by the switch (when you just want the light on) or its grounded by the UCH when the doors are opened or the car unlocked.

Nice one Ben, thanks for the info! :) The colour of the wires will help me greatly. Basically I just want the remote door unlocking to activate a small relay so the position of the switch will be irrelevant I feel.
Did you manage to dig out any diagrams?

Glad you sorted your soggy feet out too! ;)

Yeah your not the only one! :D

Tbh I don't think you can use the courtesy light feed to energize a relay like that, especially how the light fades in and out. According to the diagrams looking into it deeper you have a positive and a control wire not just a ground so i'm not 100% how the light is faded in and out. It could be something silly like PWM.

Ah right, yeah that makes sense :)
Well how about the actual door unlock feed from the central locking, would that be an option?

Can't really see or think of anything else to use. The alarm will have a grounded when armed output I imagine.

What are you wanting to do exactly?

Well, to give away all my secrets ;) I am wanting to wire in some kind of relay/timer circuit so that when you remotely unlock the car the sidelights are activated. Only for a specific time obviously, not on constantly.

Where do the indicators pick up their feed from to flash on unlocking? I'm guessing that's UCH controlled too?

Oh I see, yep pretty much everthing is UCH controlled as thats the idea behind it. Theres no extra bits doing anything.

You could pick up an indicator flash easily enough but its just the same as using the indicators its just the UCH just flashes them because you unlocked the car instead of it getting the input of you operating the stalk.

Not sure where or how you'd do it tbh. The alarm with a normally closed relay would be a good bet but I don't know if the alarm would be able to drive a relay, they usually are mind. That and I don't know if the alarm has the feature or have any info on it.

Ah ok so it's not as straight forward as I'd hoped! :dapprove:

Well thanks for the info anyway Ben, I shall give it some thought...
