Wishbone Torque with Powerflex bushes please?

I've asked before on here and I've asked around but I've never been given a clear answer. Neither have I found one on my searches.

I've got Powerflex black wishbone bushes, which have a metal washer.

I know it's probably not essential to know the torque settings but it's the first time I've ever played around (with the car) so want to make sure I haven't been a 'tard.

There's three bolts a side. 2 on the front leg, one which holds the support bracket on. 1 on the rear leg.

I've done them all up to 60nm currently. Seems OK, a bit tight if anything. But then 60nm doesn't seem like much to me for such an important part. Obviously I don't want to crush the Powerflex bushes too much but obviously I don't want to be too lose.

What do you know?

Cheers

There should be a steel tube that fits in the bushes then the washers go either side.

You won't crush the steel tube, i did mine up tight with a 1/2 ratchet.

You know what I don't actually know to be honest. @GW200 fitted the bushes to the wishbones for me when I had them powder coated so maybe he can remember?

I know @Michael Woodford MST welded the sleeves, I think they're called, to the wishbone for me when fitting originally.

But because I've never seen a standard wishbone I can't compare to what I've got so don't know what's normal or not lol.

Found a pic. There is a steel sleeve inside as you said.

There is no need to weld the steel sleeve in on the later type that you have.

Just make sure the nuts are tight and you'll be fine.

I'll pm you my phone number mate. :)

Oh really, well that shows how much I know lol  Although I'm sure Mike mentioned something about welding. Maybe I'm going mad!!

60 odd nm should be fine then I take it...

Yes mate, the nuts are nylocks so once they are tight that's it.

I don't think you'd be able to stand the constant car chat and questions if I had your number LOL

Seen a figure of 80Nm on here somewhere, that's wishbone to subframe.

Don't know if that's any good for you...

On one of the manuals I have, it says 9nm. Which is obviously wrong. Or I'm looking at the wrong thing completely!

80nm sounds better. Might nip mine up a little bit more then or give them a feel at least. Ta x

It is 9 daNm which is 90 Nm - most of the Renault pdfs have torques in daNm. 1 daNm = 10Nm.

Edit: I have that same pic above from a different manual and all the torques are in daNm and the wishbone bolt is 9.

Depends what collar was supplied in the kit.

The he early ones require welding.
The half changed ones require welding
The newest kit does not require welding
