Me being finally happy with my car, I was outside tesco gettin some chocolate. Got back in my car and was chatting to the girlfriend and then all of a sudden!! WHACK! :(

Damage isnt to bad just need a wing mirror cover, new door, new moulding as the clips have broken, n/s/f wheel refurbed as it nabbed the kurb and took a bit of paint off and window regulator sorted as the window wont go down and something has dropped off inside making it vibrate!

She hit it with a hell of a bang must of been doing about 10-15mph and didnt even brake.

Shes admitted liability already im just waiting for my hire car to be sorted then shes going in for repair next week.

Am just worried about getting the colour blended well enough for me to be happy because the car was immaculate before she hit it! I heard its a mare to paint!

The paint is amazing considering the impact it hasent chipped of at all! barely even scratched only on the point of impact!

Bad times, but could of been worse as if it had been 15seconds before I would of been just getting in the car!
 
Make sure you don't accept the car back until you are 100% happy with the repairs.

Go over it with a fine tooth comb before you take it back!

If I get in to power the law shall be "No penis, no license". Sorry she fooked up your minter mate :( Hopefully the repair will be tops!
 
I will be very picky and if im not 100% happy it will keep going back!

Its not really any bother to me because im not paying but its just hassle!

where u in the car at the time mate? If so your neck looks quite sore to me i would have a word with the no win no fee boys. good luck getting it sorted!
 
Don't understand people who walk out into the road and nearly get ran over, my cars very loud donno how they can't hear it.

Some women pushed her pram out from between two busses into my lane, she screamed at me and if course everyone gave me a funny look - it was pouring with rain and she just pushed this pram rite out and I missed it by inches what a fright I got. The lights were about 20 feet away but she chose to try and kill her kid bloody idiot.

But their women after all
 
Gutted for you mate! It amazes me how some people drive and maneuver sometimes without a care in the world, I bet you were fuming! Could been much worse though mate, a similar thing happened to my bro's girlfriends car, but they weren't in the car at the time and the people that went into it made off! They were caught on CCTV though lol

Hope it gets sorted soon mate :)

i get very cross when i see prams being pushed out into roads before the person pushing it can see. the buses thing happens all the time, all you see is a pram then some daft cow tying to lean over to see. its too late you stupid cow i could have already hit ur kid.
 
A women in a BMW hit another car at asda and after she did she just moved to another space so I waited and told the owner who it was and to get CCTV checked

Agree. The paint is very very flexible. This is the car I had arranged to buy the day before I was collecting it. Poor guy was taking it to the garage to fill up when someone t-boned him at a junction.

this is how i can see those mini spy cameras coming in handy. if someone hits u, record them saying sorry, i'll pay or woteva, and record the person driving, how many wer in the car and your surroundings, witnesses etc. they wont even know your filming. i got 1 the other day and its a cracking piece of eqipment.
 
Such a shame but at least its not major damage.

You are right about the colour though....its a nightmare to try and get perfect.
 
I did go a bit crazy! Was gutted to see what she did! Pics don't do it justice! :( it wasent in a supermarket it was in a tesco express and I was parked in a side road! My dad was a witness and tryed to video it quickly but that didn't happen! :( but at least it's all going through smoothly and she will be going for repair next week :) I will be checking it over thoroughly when she is back to make sure I'm happy! :)

I think everyone knows what your getting at BUT say if you was able to video it and it come to the point where you would take it to court for claims, you could be done for entrapment as you intensionly went out to cause an accident for video purpose of an insurance claim then you would be at fault for recording it.

Couldn't say it better than that.

1. Make sure it's not a skin going on the door.

Ask for a copy of the estimate once the car is finished.

If you can phone the garage and explain that you want a new door on your car and not a skin, they will listen and assume you're fussy therfore putting in more effort.

2. Ask them if they will be painting the full side for colour. A blend onto that wing and 1/4 panel will not look good imo. Basecoat along the full side is the only option imo.

3. Get the steering checked and make sure they know about the other wheel because they will only be looking at the drivers side of the car.

I always think worse case when I hear about repairers but these days it's very very hard to find a good bodyshop.

Give them a call and discuss the repairs. If you sound like you know what you're talking about they will put in a lot more effort.

This will be done! I don't want a skin going on the door because it won't be the same! Hopefully she will be going to the Renault bodyshop and I know a couple of people down there! I'm very fussy when it comes to my car! I just want it to be back to how it was! :)

As soon as I know who is doing it I will have a long chat with them and see what the case is! They will be informed of the wheel as I wanted to get it painted anyway so it saves me a job! As they are not genuine Renault colour they might not be able to get a match :/ who knows what will happen!

Anything else I got to look out for? I've been told a number of times that LY is hard to paint so if I'm not happy it will keep going back!

The thing is if you discuss it with them and explain that it's a problem colour that even the best can't blend without it looking shat they may think twice and just basecoat the full side.

No 2 colours are ever the same tho mate, you can't pick the colour that the car came out the factory with.

We now have 18 colours for mazda pearl red. You would think there should be 1 colour from the factory.

To be honest it's because it's yellow pearl, if it was black it would be a piece of piss.

It's worth phoning and discussiing the repairs, no point in discussing it once you pick the car up.
 
Remeber a bit of her car flew off and smacked into the top of the other side of your car and made a dent ;)
 
Yeh I will let them know! :) I have to drop the car off mate so i will run through with them and let them know everything! I will get answers before I leave the bodyshop! If they haven't all been done then I won't accept the car back! Simples! Is there not the issue of then trying to blend the wings with the bonnet etc etc? So basically to get it perfect your looking at a full respray! Awsome haha! They should know what they are talking about! I have been to a couple of bodyshops before and they look at me vague when I say it's pearl! My uncle owns a bodyshop but he refuses to paint it because of the work involved!

You hit the nail on the head had it been any other colour it would be fine but I had to go and buy a Pearl Yellow car didn't I haha! :(

No, no blending bonnets and that nonsense, all hearsay tbh.

Aslong as the full side is painted it will be fine. It's blending things like doors ect... that's the problem. A simple basecoat of the fullside will eradicate any problems.
 
Ah right I see! :) I will let them know then! So a new door and full side of the car :) I have a dent the other side at the top of the door will that need a full side aswell? :(
 
Imo is it worth doing that little dent and gambling the colour being wrong?

If you want the other side doing for juts the dent and painting either side of the door then ££££'s!
