Woo finally picked install!! (phew)

  172 cup TT

howdy, cheers all for helping with my issues regarding choosing decent parts for my install... and bambam, thx, got your PM too... appreciated... so what ive gone for is this, picking up tomorrow..

Components: Alpine SPX137A (250/300 quid - but getting them from a special place :) )

AMP: DEI Directed 650 - 5 channel amp - 350WRMS to sub + 2x170WRMS bridged to each side of components

Sub: Diamond Audio CM310 - Only a 10" but im concerned of weight and this can easily handle 350Wrms, will go up to 500...

It will all add about 43Ibs to my car which is about 20Kg... im happy with that i spose.. especially as the sound quality should be near on top notch!..

Nice

no bother mate, as usual, i dont mind giving advice to the needy, all in all a very well balanced set-up, make sure its set-up properly and it should be a beaut

i know it adds a little more weight, but with the kit you have gone for aimed at SQ investing in some sound deadening may be in order

will be interested to hear how it sounds once finished

hope you enjoy it

Well I have been looking for the past couple of weeks, my first plan was absolute pants looking back on it now!.. i feel ive gone for quite good quality stuff.. then it was about a weeks worth of haggling at all sorts of different shops to get the price down...

Just picked it all up today and cost..

Amp: 185 quid (2nd hand)

Componets + Sub + Box: 335 quid! (all new)

The alpines components alone are anywhere between 250 and 300 if you have a quick search now.. and the Sub plus box is about 220 normally...

Got the new stuff from Impulse in watford.. very good place if you ask me.. really professional, know their stuff, and dont try to sell you ONLY what they stock!...

So all in it cost 520 quid... when all in my car on the way back it felt like it did absolutely NOTHING to the performance too!! - which has put my mind at rest....

Nice

told you the weight would make a negligable differencem its a misconcepted theory, most ICE doesnt add too much weight over std, but makes the sound far better

yeh i totally agree bambam.. Just got the old scales out and tested the total weight... All comes to 19KGs - Probably going to be 17/18ish as im taking the rear components out all together - so alll good.. I suppose it would make a noticable difference if i had say 2 big amps, and 2 or 3 boxed subs.. but as it stands, very happy :) - Hmm, maybe if i run around with not much fuel too then that would save weight aswell :) -joke-

Nice
