What's going to happen in future? I mean, will they release a HD + a normal DVD version? I'd be gutted if i got the 360 and HD-DVD only to find out no-one was supporting HD format?

tbh there are quite a few films on hd dvd at the mo and a few are hd dvd one side and dvd on the other

Indeed. About 100 or so HD-DVD's out there.

Remember, you don't have to order them from HMV/Play etc etc. you can get them stateside as well as no (at the moment) regional coding on HD-DVD's

We'll see......I am sceptical though, as you just know every fu(ker will buy a PS3, so by default a large proportion of the population will have a BR player in their living room/bedroom

By the time Sony get their arse in gear and actually launch the bloody thing in Europe, the 360/Add on/HD-DVD players will probably have a few million head start.

Well for £129.99 I'm enjoying HD movies NOW even if it looses out in a couple of years time i've had more than my moneys worth.

Fair enough it doesn't float everyones boat but I enjoy watching movies and If I can watch my favourite films at x6 the quailty of DVD i'm all for it!

no I bought the 360 for gaming - not for HD movies initially and it gets well used!

so for me to play HD movies it cost me £129.99. I already bought the 360 a year a go

btw i think you can get the core for less than £200 now if you want to go that route

You dont need a 360 to use the HD-DVD player anyway.

with how the HD-DVD addon is selling for the 360, as in they can't make enough to supply the demand, as of today there is a massive reason for the studios to go with HD-DVD, yet again (for europe anyway) MS has come out on top and got it out before sony so they have a massive lead and there wil be more people with HD-DVD drives than Blu-ray drives so i can't see it going away any time soon.

I just got mine and have just set it up, very easy except the only thing i am disappointed about is that as i am using the wireless thing at the back, that is taking up the only rear USB so i have to pug the drive into the front USB.

picture quality is A1 though, amazing.

Not unwrapped mine yet - but I thought they have a socket on the back of the drive for the wireless adapter?

oh and the dvd tray open on the remote only works with the main unit too but thats not anything major as you have to get up to change the disc anyway.

1st of December is the release date - good luck in finding stock though! most people who have one pre-ordered month ago.

You could try your local PC World and ask them today before they put them on the shelfs tomorrow!

It has it's own external PSU.

Just connected it up to the HD Projector. lol
