World of Warcraft

Iv never seen the appeal of it tbh, but then again back when i was 15 i was a runescape addict :o

Used to play it loads for a few years but got bored and quit, no MMO has come out since that betters it though.

I saw my mate play it for about 5 minutes and I can honestly say it was the worst 5 minutes of my gaming life.

I played the trial and done the usual *cough* thing. After watching the film Gamer I wish I never had lol

Brilliant game in many ways, not even a game to many. I played it for quite a long time, about 2 years, left at level 70 before the latest expansion, glad I quit though, used to play about 30 hours a week! Hardcore raiding guild style, you name it, we did it! Oh the memories :D

i played it for almost 2 years. Its a great game - once you got into it - thats it your life is over. Was a great way to save money as i never went out tho. I only played it aslong as i did mainly due to the fact that all my friends and gf played. Quit however when my mates gf ran off with a guy she met from scotland on there.

I might go back once the new expansion comes out, but not hardcore raiding again

Dumped for a Scottish WoW player? Wow.

I've dabbled with it... but I think I'd be ashamed to tell anyone I played it.

Yeah, I used to be a right WoW addict. 5 or 6 hours a day during the week (while hiolding down a job) and maybe 8 or 10 hours a day at the weekend. Raiding 5 nights a week.

Stopped playing properly when the new expansion came out, as the fun started to leave it, it all became "seriuz bizneess" to the guild and it started to feel like had two jobs, one of which I didn't get paid for.

Blizzard also nerfed all the fun stuff you could do. They stopped you doing stuff like this. (me and a few friends dragging a big f**king dragon into the opposite factions city)

Having said that, got to get to know a whole bunch of cool people, had a couple of IRL meets wth people comming in from all over europe for a massive piss up in London.

I miss the fun I used to have with the game, but I have beeter things to do with my life  (well thats a lie, but it makes me feel better)

Haha, that vid is epic :) and a fellow druid, even if you were Horde ;) hehe.

I played it from launch till last year. And I've just reactivated tonight as some of my new mates play it :rasp: currently transfering to Defias Brotherhood server.

Gonna get back on it, wasted so much of my life on it but meh. I don't actually think £9 a month is a lot because normally I buy an 360/ps3 game every month for £30-40 but when I play wow I don't play anything else so £9 isn't actually that bad (imo)

ps. Boomkin ftl, wannabe mage ;)

Feral all the way :rasp:.

I might give it a go when the new expansion comes out, but my days of hardcore raiding are over. Xbox games are it for me now.

Which reminds me, must get back to Blur :-)

Never tried it, doesnt appeal to me in the slghtest, but i'd probably get sucked in if i ever did.

£40 a year RRP but i got one off ebay for £26 last time.

And some websites do it alot less than £40.

Stopped playing when ICC was released, downed first 2 bosses in there and then the whole of my guild went serious mode to try to get the other 2. Was fine with doing raids 1 or 2 nights a week which was the whole point of the guild, they we're raiding 7 nights a week when I uninstalled.

Good game though, tempted to reinstall now.

Wow, only posted this last night and so many replies already!

I have played from release with the odd 3 month break. Never really been "hardcore" just a few hours on a night etc. The game is way too addictive, even after 5 years i still enjoy playing my Mage. Cant wait for cataclysm, i signed up for beta last night so hopefully ill get invited into that :)

Its strange playing it now after all these years. I listen to guildies who are no older than 16 going on about how the game used to be before lich king and how great it was. None of them realise how great Vanilla wow really was and never experienced PvP battles at Crossroads or when getting a group for Deadmines was easy as everyone was around that level.

Wow has become more than a game, its a social network. Bit like facebook only you get to do something fun rather than spam "i feel like ice cream :)". I think £9 is a reasonable price as the amount of development and support available for the game justifies it totally.

Just a few views :)

What the hell is raiding?

A dungeon raid.

Basically you get 25 people together* from various character classes (warrior healer etc) and go work your way together through a dungeon killing its contents and battling its bosses (think end of level bad guy).

* Can also be 10 or 5, but these dengeons are not as difficult and the loot isn't as good.

Played a Hunter in a Top end raiding guild from Molten core to Black temple.

I enjoyed it at the time but looking back i think what a waste of time.

i know that clip so well and yet stil cry with laughter whenever i watch it, classic.

can't be a setup!

Some American lads i know on XBL used to play alot and they said its known to be a setup.

Eitherway i still laugh when i watch it.
