Worn OMP steering wheel

Hi all.. ive not got any photos but my OMP steering wheel is worn and the swede has now turned to a smooth shiney surface

Is there anything that can be done to rectify this?

Nope, get it retrimmed with new suede.

I've heard, you can use a sodium carbonate solution (washing powder or something like) and scrub with a tooth brush. suppose to bring it up like new. Haven't tried it myself

Get it retrimmed in leather imo. Perforated sides, plain top and bottom.

Where did you hear/see that?

Jenic, that would be great but the clio gets used EVERY day so its not really an option at the moment!

Buy a suede brush, this is the one I bought and it made a huge difference to the appearance of the suede http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suede-Bru...ing_ShoeCare_Shoe_Care_LE&hash=item20d086ed65 .

My sabelt wheel is wrecked, think I will tryLlewllyn recommended, that looks like its come up great. Other than that im going to buy a cheap horrible wheel off ebay for £20 then send mine off for trimming.

That looks like a massive improvment! I was sitting in the car the other day and i was roughing the steering wheel up a bit and i think it would actually come up ok with a bit of Tlc!
