  500bhp Scoob

JBL seem to have quite a good footing in the budget range of audio... on a car audio site, they fed one of them 250w RMS/1000w peak subs with over 1000w RMS, and it took a beating before it finally gave up... even they were suprised

Any more replies? like opinions lol or surgestions on Subs to get? i mainly Want Clear not Loud lol as two 10" are going to be easy enough for bass i see ppl with 12" turning their bass down to like -7 and stuf

Just one question does the Box i make for these Subs have to be More or less Air tight or doesnt it matter

i want Clear Solid base if i can

Wait until you get the speakers before you build the box. As on the back of the speakers it should tell you what litre box they need to get the best out of them. And for the best sound you want it as air tight as possible, get down B&Q and get some silicone sealant to go over all the joints.

If you want big booming sound then a bigger box should give you that, if you want clear punchy base then make the box a tad smaller, because there is less air to move around so you get a really nice kick from it.

I have a 12" pioneer in my install, with a slightly smaller box (as its in the footwell, so that sort of limited what i could fit in) and with the dance music i listen to it sounds really nice, really loud and punchy. A good amp helps to tho cause you can adjust it alot to get the base you want.

usually id say Pioneer but those JBL subs can usually handle more than 250W RMS

over on talk audio they are very well regarded as the best budget sub around......

plus there dirt cheap @ Motor World

ive seen one of those 10" jbl subs hit 133db on thremlab sensors (read lower than mics) very impressive, it did blow tho!! great for £30
