I just had my ph1 172 rr'd. It has no engine mods apart from a k-tec de-cat and stealth 2 system. It just made 179.6bhp. Chuffed to bits, an awesome bit of kit.
Enough said.

Did you put it on the same rollers before fitting the exhaust?

A comparison before/after would be good.

unfortunately not, the std backbox had a hole in it when i bought it so i just went straight for the stealth. It was done on dastek rollers at clive atthowes in norwich, they seem to have a very professional set up there. they said i was fairly lucky as most 172/182's dont make near to what they should do which was what i was honestly expecting to happen.

Timmay- when? where? i have been in afghan for 7 months.

as 'the duck' said prepare to be grilled!! All rollers are different and most are in the customers favour - to make you happy!!

The only true way to see if you have gained from your mods is to dyno it before and after.

Nice result chap.

The old different rolers/different power debate does my head in. They should all be calibrated to a specific standard so all are the same then everyone could compare genuine power figures.

Well done mate, tidy result that.

As per if its below book your cars broke, if its above book the rollers are broken.

Just tell people you got 172.9 lol

flywheel figures mean nothing!

what was it at the wheels mate, should say on the graph they gave you

  corsa ecoflex
i had my ph1 rr'd at surrey rolling road and it gave out 177.2@fly and 148.7@wheels all i have is a remap.open cone filter and 2.5" scorpion from cat back...charlie at surrey said it was quick as the engine was nice and loose as it had done 105k

Yea, im under no illusions that it would be set up to make me happy. It made 142 at the wheels. i was told that the wheel figure is ok but it can vary so much because of things like wheel size and condition of the transmission from one car to another. Im happy with it regardless. The car is looked after so i wasnt surprised. i got back from afghanistan and spent a small fortune on getting it up to scratch(service, new leads, new suspenion, new tyres, new brakes, new bearings and ball joints etc etc. since i have had it it has never had anything but v-power put in it and i give the fuel system a flush every few months. It gets a clean at least once a week and i de-grease the engine bay so i can keep a check for leaks etc. The place i had it rr'd is on the internet for those that are into checking stuff like that out.

yup good shout mate, mine made 141 @ the wheels with just an exhaust, so its good to see extra mods make the difference :) youj got any pics of ya motor?

Sounds very high, where did you get it RR'd.

Please don't tell me SCA!

Whats wrong with SCA?
I have heard some good things about Clive Atthowe, but have never really known where to head if I ever wanted anything doing to my 182.

It's always nice to realise that something is better than you expected!!

Can you not tell us where you had it RR'd?

SCA are a bit bodgy and dodgy from what I hear about people that had had work done there.

I went and had my geometry done there and they didn't seem to have much of a clue and I had to tell them what to do!

bloody rollers police piss me off. why cant people just say well done glad your happy with it.

How much did they charge you fella? I'm from yarmouth and plan to get mine done pretty soon

djroberts- Clive attohowes in norwich, salhouse road. i put it earlier in the thread.

Yea its all standard apart from the exhaust. If you are local and wanna go there im off work for another 3 weeks and would be happy to meet. im in stalham just outside norwich but only 15 mins from gy. it was 140 but i had a diagnostic done as well as i was having problems with the ignition (split ht lead in the end). they did a full physical engine check and then plugged her in to check the ecu too. they definately know what they are on about.

 Ppl are only asking for the at the wheel figure so the can actually compare it to their own cars or other cars.
Having the title WOW also brings in the sharks and criticism.

Ah well, wasn't trying to attract criticism, just thought people might be interested.
141.3bhp at the wheels @6398rpm, 179.6bhp at the flywheel @6435rpm, 154.6lbft @ 5433rpm. environment temp=13.6degrees. Not sure on just rr prices but look them up online and give them a call. they will be more than happy to help. off to get m alignment sorted tomorrow at autotest in norwich.

  182
so around 165 to 170bhp at the fly then :)

understand your not trying to attract attention, but obviously those who dont know about rolling roads think they all the read the same hence all the "talk" starts. as has been said the only comparable figure is the at the wheels result which is far more accurate

trust me mate, 165 upwards is a strong result :)

Neither do wheel ones.

Its still only as good as the tester / set up

exactly chap, too many variables to compare different runs on different days

having said that, figures look good, and as long as your hapy fair play chap :)

yep. happy now. had the wheels aligned today, now it handles too. should have had it done as soon as the coilovers were fitted really. would have saved me a few hundred quid on tyres.

I had mine RR'd @ Hill power on a RR meet. Mine made 152 ATW, other modified 172's were making similar or less power to mine. ;)

good goin that. i think inlets might b the next step for me. not sure what sort of gains i will expect though.

Why is everybody on the chaps back and taking the piss!?

I dont think he was saying he believed the mods he has made a massive difference as he highlighted them as basically bare mods.

Just seems like somebody who was happy with a result his car got from an RR whether it be wrong or not!

C

crofty66

lol, its all good. I can tell the piss takers and those who aren't. Im happy with it, end of really. Im not a mechanic but i know enough about engines etc. As before im aware not all rollers are the same. I posted the flywheel power as thats what the guys there told me was the one tolook for. When you buy as new car it is the flywheel figure you get not the wheels. As far as im concerned it's not a big deal. Maybe wow was a bad title, I would have been impressed if it was 10hp less. Lets face it, when do they ever ake book figures anyway?
