xbox 360 now or wait till the elite??

i want a xbox just so i can have a blast on forza 2 but i dont want to rush out and get a standard 360 if the elite is going to be so much better?
any ideas when the elite is supposed to be out?
and will it be worth hanging on?

Elite isn't any better for your average end user, HDMI and bigger HDD are only differences, still plays the same games.

HDD will be out as an accessory for other 360 soon anyway.
