xbox 360 question

I'll be getting this on Monday, anyway I've got the Premium pack, with gears of war and an extra wireless controller with PGR3 and some other xbox live game.
What I want to know will the wireless controllers need their battery packs charging up? Or are they powered by AA or AAA normal batteries?
I really don't want to open up the box only to find I have to bleeding put some batteries on charge!!!

standard one needs batteries out of the box, mine came with 2 aa's, u can get a rechargeable unit for it though.

Its plays out of the box but you're probably going to need to buy some rechargable battery packs at some point.

£15 for charger and battery. And you can still play while it charges.

i've just bought 2 sets of the play and charge packs for mine i'll get the money back i would have spent on batteries eventually though!

i got xbox with hard drive, 2 wireless controllers, gears of war, pgr3, rainbow six vegas, saints row, nba 06, amped 3 and arcade pack for £380 not bad really
