gotta be honest mate for the time being im going to go with the xbox 360. there is some fantastic games out for it now and then lineup between now and xmas is unbelievable. I have mine connected up to a samsung hi def lcd and the graphics in some games are jaw dropping. For the price and games lineup i dont think you can beat the 360

Since the 360 is getting the next GTA etc why bother spending double the cash on a system thats pretty much just the same. Yes 1 might be more powerful but then again the xbox was more powerful than the PS2 it didnt show much difference graphics wise though.

PS3 will beat the 360 on virtually all fronts.. but at the end of the day its all down to games and more importantly the gameplay within those games...that why the wii is gonna be a great console (got my pre-order in ;) ) its not try to have the best graphics but it is trying to improve gameplay and the way you interact with the games.

Oh and just for the record I have a 360, have a pre-order in for the wii and have a pre-order in for the PS3.. so i aint biast ;)

Indeed it should come down to the gameplay and games.

The PS3 may well outperform the 360 (i'm sitting on the fence though as i'll be buying a 360 soon:rolleyes: ) on all fronts but i doubt that the gap will be that significant.

I don't think graphics wise they'll be much in it either.

If there is you'll probably need a super dooper HD screen to appreciate the difference anyway.

Either one will/does look stunning on any HD 32, 37, 42" etc etc TV.

I'm sceptical too about Sonys big 1080p push too. Be a good few years yet before all the games have this resolution as standard not to mention the general public having native 1920*1080 tv's either...

Has anywhere still got Wii pre-orders available?

As for PS3, i reckon (hope) there could be a pretty hefty price drop on launch.

Could the high price tag possibly be to put off would be hoarders of the pre-order system?

no live doesnt have to cost money
and no hdmi version is coming out says ms

eh? Live vosts £40ish a year to be able to play games online...

the marketplace is free (which is where you download all the games/demos/updates etc....)

Live may cost but thats why its so good, if PS3 online is anything like PS2 online it will be terrible. AFAIk Sony aren't going to have their own servers and are going to use the games developers servers and while they don't have to charge they can do.

I was always a massive PS2 fan and hated the original Xbox, now I can't get enough of the 360 and live is amazing, PS3 is a cheap bluray player to me and something to play GT HD on and thats about it.

360 doesn't have HDMI but it doesn't really need it as its only used when HD content is using encryption and if you don't have it the video resolution is brought down but MS reckon the dvd manufacturers are unlikely to enforce this at the beginning until most people have tv's with HDMI so it won't matter. Its also reported that MS could adapt their proprietory connector on the back of the 360 to include a hdmi, not sure if this is 100% accurate though.

PLus the 360 has over 1 year of games development on the PS3 and all the good games are just starting to come out, PS3 will take at least a year to get to the the same point, and the PS3 is supposed to be a lot harder to develop for anyway so in the next year the best games will be on 360 so i'm sticking with that.
