Xbox media sharing

So i've set up the media sharing to my "media pc". Great. Only i have everything stored on a separate drive on this pc and my xbox only wants to read the silly shared filed on the C/ drive and not my D/ drive with all my stuff on.

How do i get round this, they are shared files, tried a shortcut into public file but all to no avail.

Go into WMP and turn file sharing on and point it to any folder / drive you want. Simples.

I couldn't get media sharing to work from my 360 to my laptop so I gave up and installed Tversity after seeing some decent reports on here.

Makes media sharing easy (for me anyway!).

Exactly what this man has said. Mines set-up with all my music on another drive and as long as Windows Media Player can see the files, they can be shared with the Xbox.

When you say see the files what do you mean. I added them to wmp but that didn't work. And it shares videos and music, so i don't see what more i can do. It only sees the "public" file on the C/ drive though, nothing on my D drive.


I went back to media and it's all turned on, but i can't "point it" at specific files, not on vista anyway.

Easy to install. In the media sharing there is a + button at the top which you can add folders.

Hmm it sounds like a maybe permissions issue. If the media is showing in your library then the Xbox should be able to play it.

Don't see why there is a permissions issue?

Yeah it can play it alright. It's all there. But won't pick up anything that's not in the public area for some reason. The folder i want to get into is shared and open to everyonee...

So i put Tversity on another comp today, did same thing and it's there, i can pick it up on comps etc. as it's shared media, but can't see it on my xbox, however i can see the stuff on the first comp i set up.. ****ing weird. Any ideas?

Not so simple now.
