My xbox got the Q4 red light last night E74 error. A month out of warranty

If I get a new elite, will my xbox live username and achievments and all be lost, can they transfer it? I still got a couple of months of live left.

I had the RROD a couple of weeks ago, 6 months out of the warranty period. Grrr. Remember that the RROD warranty was extended by MS to 3 years though...

Anyway, I bought a new elite. As long as you are logged in to Xbox live with your gamertag it will show all of your achievements. If the hard disk on your current xbox is ok, you could get a transfer kit and transfer all your saves over too. Unfortunately, I couldn't do this as it was a dodgy replacement HD that caused the RROd for me. Bought it off amazon too!

I have 2 elites. One broke so I bought a new one. I just went on live on the new one, signed in with my username and was fine. I then used the old hardrive with it for game saves.

I get that every now and again on mine. Just turn it off and on again and its fine.
I’m certainly not looking at getting a new one to replace it.

If you ring MS or search on eBay for a transfer kit you'll be able to transfer all your stuff over easy peasy; if not you can log on to Live and recover your gamertag and you'll get all your points and stuff back but no saves.

Just out of interest what are you going to do with the broken 360? And how old is it?

Mine is 3.5 years old. It's sat in a box at home. Shame you don't live nearer, you could come and pick it up off me for £20 - comes with a 20GB hard disk, the leads and I'd give you the 120GB one that caused all the problems if you thought you could do something with it! No control pad though.
