XBOX / Turtle Beach / HDMI

Is there anyway of using the Turtle Beachs with HDMI?

If I run the xbox through HDMI the quality is far better than my HDTV component, but renders my Turtle Beachs unusable as they plug into RCA? The Red and White pins, I've tried them in all possible combos but the sound continues to come out of the TV and not the TBs.

So I'm left with either 1080p or TBs, in an ideal world I'd prefer the option of both.

Any help appreciated. Ta.

Get an HDMI cable from Microsoft and it comes with an adapter that you need.

You don't need that cable buddy. I used the standard non HDMI cable AND plugged in the turtle beaches and a HDMI cable. I plugged the turtle beaches into the red and yellow sockets of the standard xbox cable then into the TV etc. Leaving the HDMI cable intact and plugged in. I then just go onto HDMI 1 channel as normal and bingo, works perfect.

Ahh so use the components too, but leave them unplugged from the xbox?

I've got the X31s and works great with HDMI. Just plug the jacks into one of the inputs in the back and works fine (although took me a couple of attempts to figure out which ones to use!)

I would highly recommend them, feels weird without them now.

I just go onto HDMI exit 1 on my TV and it plays as normal so I'm not sure tbh.

Yes it does fossie, mine only work in the sub out and plays the sound through the TV too, but just turn the volume on the TV down.

Ben I would, but I don't work there LOL.

You can take the casing off the standard one to make it fit in. Theres a guide how to do it on youtube buddy.

I've only got my HDMI in the xbox, nothing else, the turtle beachs are through the components into the subout ports. And it works from there.

Ben, I'm just good mates with Josh, so a bit of cheeky free advertising.

Lol, mine wouldnt work without the componant leads plug into the Xbox, just took the casing off and popped both the that and the HDMI in, now works..... epic

I take it there will be a difference in the HD quality of playing in HD via HDMI and HD via componant?
