Too much driving with them on in the day!

I'd go with bumper off, its not a massive job.

That side is probably the easiest one to do. Try take it out without removing the bumper if its to hard then take it off if its not then put the new one back in. Your not gonna damage the broken bulb anymore.

I havent turned them on manually since ive had the car. Always on Auto. Is it just a bulb or ballast? Im fecking clueless. lol

drivers side one is hard to get to i would take your bumper off first then undo the 3 bolts that attach the headlight to the car for easy access.

in the wheel arch take out the plastic circles, they pull out and push back in might need a hard wiggle tho and undo the screw in the wheel arch that you can see next to the wheel then you need a 10mm spanner to get the last bolt off that holds the side on(might need to pull the plastics out to see the bolt in the top right) then undo the 2 clips under the bonnet that hold the front plastic grill on and thats its. just do it on the side you need, no need to take both sides off.

hope i helped sorry about my bad english ;)

Jesus this is hassle for a bloody headlight! lol Im working solid for the next week so dont quite know how im going to get this done.

Where can i get the new one from too?

Best place I have found http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/

In order to know if it was the bulb, was the light pink in colour before it died? If so It is the bulb. And whilst you have the bumper off, I'd change both the bulbs at the same time.

Cant say i noticed any difference in the bulb but i only see them from behind the wheel. Sods law says this will be the ballast.

swap the bulbs over in the headlights its a piece of piss, disconnect the starter (littlebox xonnected to the bulb just unplug the wire
then turn the whole thing and pull out

then swap over and see if the bulb works in the other head light

it wont be the ballst that causes flickering

it could be the starter but you wont know until you swap the bulbs around

It's alive! Decided to have another look at this. Took the rubber cap off and gave it a good wiggle and that seemed to sort it. Turned it all off them tried again and it was off again. Few minutes of poking it again and it seems to be working ok.

Why did they design the engine bay to be worked on by 10 year olds!!

Ok, the damn thing is dead again, and its now worse. Where i could barely get access to the damn thing i obviously didnt get the rubber cover over 100% as its come adrift slightly and now the headlight is steamed up as moisture has got in. Also, now when i touch what i can only describe as the black box thing behind that rubber cover that i presume is the back of the bulb with the ignition on its making a whirring motor type noise.

Any one got a diagnoses? Really dont have any spare time in the next week to waste time on this damn thing.

On my 182 when the cover came adrift my ballast broke.

That's a headlight out jobby. Best thing is to take the bumper off and swap parts between headlights and you'll see :)
