xenon-look bulbs?

Seen a few threads on here and nothing seems to be getting me in the right direction.
there is a 1.4 colour coded clio near me that has some xenon (possibly xenon style) bulbs that look amazing... not the chavvy blue you often get in your bodykitted corsa, but a really nice xenon look blue.

I have previously bought osram bulbs that were recommended and they just looked a brighter whiter bulb than the standard bulbs...

any ideas on where to get some decent bulbs that actually look fairly decent?

cant afford any £300 kits or second hand 182 xenons so no need to tell me that i should.

They never look the same, and usually involve much higher wattages and blinding folk.

I just typed 'Xenon H1' or whatever size Clio's are on eBay and got some £5 ones from Japan or something. They looked mint!

Wasn't doing it for looks, just trying to get a bit more reach from dipped beam headlights, the cheapo bulbs I had on before were awful. New ones are a marked improvement, without blinding other road users.

tbh if your not having a retro fit xenon kit

get either piaa or if they are little expensive get the top of the range from either osram/phillips

the ones on ebay are cheap because they are cheap

Did you find they had a bluish tint to them Alex? or just a brighter light?

il look into them dink... thats why i want advice before getting any as i know the '£1.99' sets off ebay will be dire

They do have a slight bluish tint. But there's a good additional reach to the standard bulbs I had before.

Ultra bulbs have a good bluey white glow off them. As with any xenon look bulb however the light is pish.

they are good i had a few pairs on my seat and they were class apart from the blew abit easier and life wasnt as long but so f**k for the price better than paying 300 quid or whatever thats ridiculous...

I have Osram Nightbreakers (I'm sure that's what they are) and they are pretty white for a filament bulb.

I just bought some random bulbs for my old clio and they had a nice ice blue tint to them, I've got xenons now though and they just blow everything else out of the water.

haha no £300 iirc for a set of MINT condition 182 headlights including ballasts/bulbs etc, I do love Jesus.

Phillips have BlueVision ones. Not sure how they look.

I've only gone for the the top two in 80%+ brightness.

I bought ultra bulbs for my non-sport sidelights, dipped and main looked great. You can buy them from halfruads but they will need to order them.

Wouldnt bother with high wattage bulbs, they'll blow inevitably. Save yourself the run-around and buy a HID kit from the start.

just fitted the ultra bulbs which arrived today (handy as one of my bulbs blew today) and they look spot on.
