Ah, I see Kev, that makes sense.
Good job I'm on days this week!
whats funny? see page 17 about "Conspicuity" running bright lights amongst others just means you blend in..

Nope, just that using them on a bright day when everyone else is too doesn't make you any more visible.
Ahahahaha. This is a miracle. LOL at the camo example. Do soldiers in camo wear xenons to blend in?
...is it just me or does the guy in the car look quite pleased with himself? (img is from the report above)
I also drive with Xenons on during the day sometimes, mostly when it's overcast, not usually in bright sunlight.

I think some of you are being deliberately obtuse.
The guy is saying that if some c**t fails to spot your car in broad daylight then they're clearly not looking or their vision is blocked by parked cars/wildebeest/cataracts. In which case lights are gonna do fuckall.
That's true but a bright light is going to make your car more likely to be seen.
If someone is going to pull out, your lights might make the difference between him seeing you and not. He might still pull out. But if having them constantly saves you from one accident, it's good enough for me.
So at night, we should turn our lights off, or attach a lighthouse to the roof?
Does it really matter?
Bit late to the party...
I love it when people get involved in an Internet Argument and pretend they're too busy or too cool to get involved. Did you never see Why Don't You?

I know, sorry, I have a life.
I don't understand how I can get involved and then pretend I'm too busy/cool to get involved.
The chances of someone at a junction seeing you are increased a million percent when you have you headlights on. I don't want someone careering into the side of me so i've always done it.
i've never used lights on a clear bright day, and in 20+ years i've never T-boned anybody, been involved in a motorway pileup, mown down anybody in a shopping precinct or driven through a hedge because i don't drive like a cnut when there are generally more people out and about
It's definitely not for safety because you're less visable with your lights on...

if you're side on, the oncoming car will have no idea if your lights are on or off
